MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly denies statements attributed to RSF Commander, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo that "the war in the country will not cease unless there is international intervention," and other statements concerning our forces. These statements are untrue and were never made by the commander.

We call upon the media to maintain credibility and accuracy in reporting to stop misinformation and wrongdoers who spread lies and rumors. The RSF urges journalists to responsibly cover the crisis in our country. Professional media must continue to help uncover the facts for our people and shed light on the horrors of war and challenges of displacement.

We underscore the significant role that the media plays in highlighting the facts and contributing to the national discourse — despite the extensive lengths to which the former regime has gone over the past three decades to manipulate and warp this honorable profession.
